Discover one of the most ancient villages of the Mediterranean: a place where time slows down and life moves to the rhythm of the sea.
Sant’Angelo d’Ischia is a small suspended world, an authentic dream, where time seems to flow more slowly. Here there are no cars and no city noise, only the sound of the sea gently caressing the coast and the unhurried pace of those walking through its narrow little streets.
Born as a fishing village and still faithful to its essence, Sant’Angelo preserves a rare atmosphere: intimate, quiet, authentic.
In front of its small islet, which seems to watch over the village, everyday life intertwines with natural beauty and with ancient thermal springs that have offered well-being for centuries.
In Sant’Angelo, luxury is discreet elegance: a place that does not need to show off, because it is already unique in its essence.
Among the white alleyways, the small boutiques, and the little seaside restaurants, the soul is set free and the gaze is lost on the horizon.
Sant’Angelo invites you to rediscover simplicity and peace, things that are almost impossible to find elsewhere today.
As early as the 15th century, a community of fishermen, farmers, and merchants lived in Sant’Angelo, bringing the village to life through daily work and trade along the coast.
During the Aragonese rule, a watchtower was built on the rocky cone that still dominates the landscape today: that tower, which all the locals simply know as “La Torre”, still watches silently over the village.
In the past, a small church dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel also stood on the top of the promontory, and it was from this church that the village took its name.
A village where, between land and sea, the past still lives on in memories and in the stones themselves…
The village’s parish church, inaugurated in 1850 along the panoramic route between the center and Le Fumarole. It houses the venerated statue of Saint Michael, and on September 29 the traditional procession takes place by land and by sea. The parish received official recognition at the beginning of the 20th century.
On the final stretch of Maronti Beach, just a few minutes on foot from Sant’Angelo, geothermal heat rises from the underground, warming the sand and the water. The area can be reached on foot or by taxi boat from the village. Warning: always walk with footwear on, and respect the signs and restricted areas.
In Sant’Angelo, the sea marks the passing of time with the charm of its many facets. Here, it is possible to reach hidden beaches and unspoiled corners by small boats (taxi boats) guided by fishermen who preserve the history of this corner of the island.

Reaching Sant’Angelo is part of the journey.
From Naples’ Molo Beverello, hydrofoils depart for Forio, the port closest to Sant’Angelo. Alternatively, you can arrive at Casamicciola or Ischia Porto and continue by bus or taxi toward the southern coast of the island.
Those who wish for an even more direct experience can rely on private boat services that arrive right in the center of Sant’Angelo, entering from the sea just as fishermen and travelers have done for centuries.
Cars do not circulate here; therefore, those arriving by car can leave their vehicles in the large parking areas at the entrance to the village, while electric golf carts will take any luggage directly to the accommodation facilities.
